In order to qualify for the DC trip on May 6th, you will need to create a way to share information about a book you choose to read. This book needs to be teacher approved.
The Book Share project is due March 24th. In order to qualify you must have your project completed on this date.
It is your choice how you would like to present your book. You may select one of the book share project options shown below, or you may create your own idea and have it approved by a teacher.
The Book Share Project is meant to encourage others to read the book that you chose. All projects must have a well written summary that includes all the story elements except the resolution. (Don’t reveal the end or surprise of the story!)
Your project must contain a book review that includes techniques the author used to engage the reader. Share examples from the story and other things the author did to make the book interesting. Remember that you are trying to persuade other students to read this book!

Book Cereal Box * Take the package of cereal out of the box and place it in a plastic container. * Cut out construction paper to fit each side of the box and glue it in place. * Create a cereal title for the front of the box that gives the readers an idea of what the book was about. For example, if you are doing a report on a boy who survived in the forest, you might title your cereal "Wilderness Crunch." But also include the title of the book on the front. * Draw a picture to show a scene from the book on the front of the cereal box under the title you choose. * Write "Ingredients" on one side of the cereal box, and list things that happened in your book -- period, setting, characters, and problems. * Write "Nutritional Information" on the other side of the box and list a percentage of the following things the person will get from the book: action; humor; history; drama; suspense; vocabulary; mystery; and education. For example, if your book was about an Indiana Jones type character, you might have "100 percent action, 40 percent humor, 10 percent drama, 100 percent suspense." * Write what techniques the author used while writing and give some examples. * Draw scenes from the story in different open spaces on the box. * Think of something that would have been useful to one of the characters in your book. For example, if your book was about a boy surviving in the forest, you might come up with a plastic knife and fork. Place this prize inside the cereal box. * Place your name on the bottom of the box.
